ENG 1W English (August 2026)
Grade 9
This course enables students to continue to develop and consolidate the foundational knowledge and skills that they need for reading, writing, and oral and visual communication. Throughout the course, students will continue to enhance their media literacy and critical literacy skills, and to develop and apply transferable skills, including digital literacy. Students will also make connections to their lived experiences and to society and increase their understanding of the importance of language and literacy across the curriculum.

BEP 20 Building the Entrepreneurial Mindset (April 2026)
​Grade 10
This course introduces students to the world of business and what is required to be successful, ethical, and responsible in today’s economy. Students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to be an entrepreneur who knows how to respond to local and global market opportunities. Throughout the course, students will explore and understand the responsibility of managing different functions of a business. This includes accounting, marketing, information and communication technology, financial management, human resources, and production.

TGJ2O Communications Technology and the Skilled Trades (April 2026)
Grade 10
Students will explore how communication works in today’s digital world and how messages are created, shaped, and interpreted through images, video, sound, text, and interactive media. Throughout the course, students will examine the relationship between purpose, audience, and design, and develop an understanding of the technical tools and processes used in modern communications technology.
Students will learn to apply design principles, technical terminology, and structured problem-solving processes to create original media products. They will gain practical experience using planning tools such as storyboards and design briefs, while developing safe work habits and professional practices.
In addition, students will investigate the social, environmental, and ethical impact of communications technologies, including issues of representation, copyright, privacy, and digital responsibility. By the end of the course, students will have created a portfolio of work that demonstrates their technical skills, creative thinking, collaboration, and ability to reflect on their learning.
